The short version

What is Moscato?

Moscato d'Asti from Piedmont is made from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains and bottled with a gentle fizz. Fermentation is stopped early, retaining natural grape sugar and modest alcohol.

Fresh grape, peach, orange blossom, Meyer lemon, and honeysuckle dominate. Sweetness is balanced by bright acidity and fragrant lift, making the style feel lighter than many desserts.
