The short version
What is Viognier?
Viognier nearly disappeared before renewed interest in its Rhône homeland. It now grows worldwide, but careful harvesting is crucial: too early and aroma is muted, too late and freshness can fade.
Apricot, peach, tangerine, honeysuckle, and ginger are typical. It can smell sweet even when technically dry, with moderate acidity and a broad, almost oily texture.
